It's about time!

No I haven’t forgotten about this already, things just have just been fairly crazy. Between moving up to Michigan and driving back and forth every weekend, last weekend being my birthday!!! Which was a very fun weekend but, we will coming back to that in a short bit. Life seems to be moving at super speed, and yet at times it almost slower than a slug. If you are a reader of my sis Dee, you already know some of the things going on, with both my family and me.
First off me, and the Mrs. B2B (Bubba-to-be :-) ) are in the midst of planning a wedding, not to mention we are both part of my other sisters wedding. This weekend we are even going to register, I hope it is fun, I think it should be. Wedding planning is going well thus far, anyone we talk to when they ask how the planning is going and we give them the run down of what we have done they tell us that we are on top of things, hopefully this will stay that way, that is our goal.
The whole living in Mi. thing, I am sure some of you may be thinking, why would I move to another state when I am planning a wedding less than a year away, simple, the money. I get per diem, $132 a day, tax free, for working up here, which added up is much nice than my normal salary, which I still get as well. Plus they are paying for me to be driving a rental car, and my truck has not been the most reliable or most gas efficient, so this is another blessing. However even with all this, there still comes some extra stress, being away from everyone, friends, family and Mrs. B2B. And there are some other things that maybe I will talk about on another post, don’t want to do to much at once.
I guess before I rap this up I should talk about my birthday for just a second, unlike my sister who thinks she should have a whole month for her birthday :-P I just had a simple Saturday, though I do plan to do dinner with the whole family this coming Saturday, to celebrate I believe both mine, and my fathers birthday.
Last Saturday started with Mrs. B2B making me breakfast, followed by a walk. As we walked we realized the time, and we had to return the rental car and pick up the new one.

After that we went to the duck pond and a walk in the park, however we forgot my camera so we decided we would have to come back with it later. After this we went back to her house where she made some delicious Grilled cheese and tomato soup. And I am not kidding when I say it was absolutely delicious! Then we went off to my parent’s house, needing to get some stuff for this week, like a coat, and to see Maverick.

Then we went back to the duck pond and the park to take some pictures.

After this went out to one of my favorite places, Texas Roadhouse for a great steak dinner. And ended the evening with just relaxing on the couch watching a movie, All in all, a great birthday.

I love that girl! (and our cat)

Weekend Review

I got back home Friday, stopping at the lovely Mrs. Bubba-to-be’s to so hello, and I had dinner. Then I had to make a few last stops before making it to my home, First giant eagle to buy some flowers for sweetest day, then at Walmart to buy a sheet for my couch, to act as a slip covers so it doesn’t smell as much like dog (wishful thinking, I know).
Saturday was my eventful day of my weekend, it started with a trip to Petsmart, Maverick, needed his nails trimmed, since we had moved home where there is hard wood floors and his nails were scratching the floors, so he had lost house privileges until his nails were trimmed. Maverick is not a large dog, nor is he a lap dog (though sometimes he thinks he is, and he is not a fan of having is back legs touched or picked up, so I thought I would take him to “pros” to have it done. After him falling off the table on the first attempt at the first nail, the girl, half my size, asks “is he good at this kind of stuff?” I almost laughed as I said “no, you will probably want some help. So she had me come back and hold him, and I was very proud, after the first attempt he was a very good boy, later when we got home he also got a bath.
After Petsmart it was to the Mrs. Bubba-to-be’s, to give her, her flowers, and she gave me Two pictures and frames which she was nice enough to decorate for my as well as a poster to hang in my room up here in Michigan. After this it was time to exchange rental cars, before taking her, maverick and myself back out to my house.
Hertz was fun, this week I am sporting a G6. So in recent travels I had always liked having the GPS, so it was on my rental profile. The girl at hertz asked if I would want a car with a neverlost cause they had one, and I told her I really didn’t it so I shouldn’t be charging extra to the work project, she was like “ok……You said you are going to be renting here for the next few months…Don’t tell my manager.” Needless to say I shouldn’t make a wrong turn on my way home this week.
The last main thing I did, was we along with, Dee, and my other sister and her fiancĂ©, went to a clam bake, but just not any claim bake, a biker claim back. Good times, Did I mention the guy who was hosting it, and his Motorcycle Club are a Christian MC, unlike most MCs that have dangerous hazing for new members, these guys have to do service work and outreach for there initiation into the club. Sadly it was a very cold out on Saturday, and we didn’t stay long after the clams and drawings. To end the evening Mrs. Bubba-to-be and me went back to my house for a glass of wine and to watch this week’s ER (still never decided if I liked Abby, to late now).
Sunday was nice and simple, church, lunch at Wendy’s with the fam, back to Mrs. Bubba-to-be’s to do our reading ( we have two books for married couple or soon to be married couple that we read together, then pray together). Finally it was time to make the drive back up to MI.

Coming to the end of the first.

So I am coming up on the end of my first week as a resident up in Michigan, It wasn’t bad both not a whole lot of anything happened. There wasn’t a lot of work, but I was forewarned, it is going to be coming, and it will hit hard when it does. Next week should be a little more exciting, more people up here I know, including the now roommate, no more apt. to my self .
I was excited to learn that I get $3 more a day for living, which, at first doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it is nearly an extra $1100 a year. Totally exited about that!

Random Joke from a Co-work

A stranger walks into a bar and orders a beer. Sitting a few seats down from him he hears this guy talking. "No, I'm not lying. If you jump from the 12th story, you fall UP!!" The
guys standing around this obvious drunk start shaking their heads in disapproval. The stranger walks over to the drunkard with a questionable look on his face. The drunk looks at
The Stanger and says," you believe me don't ya. Come on I'll even show ya!!" The stranger looks at the drunk and then to the men standing next to him and then agrees out of pure curiosity. The drunk, the stranger, and another man take the elevator to the 12th floor. The drunk walks to the window and says 'here we go!' and jumps out. The stranger starts to yell but stops when he sees the drunk actually fell UP!! The drunk comes down the elevator as if nothing happened. The stranger looks at him in astonishment. The drunk tells the stranger to try it.
The stranger, a little tipsy at this point, decides sure why not. So he runs at the window and jumps out, only to fall down to his death. The other man looks that the drunk in disappointment and says,
"Your one mean drunk superman!"

The New Pad

Thought I would give you a little tour of the place I now get to call home during the week. First of I can tell you, I moved here for my job to make a bunch of money on the per Diem. To save even a little more money, I took the end of a lease of an apt. from a friend and co-worker, which happens to be shared with the Lead engineer of the project that I am up here for. Should be an interesting 6 months or so, this week he is back home in Cleveland so for my first week I have the place to my self.

The new bedroom, yes i get to sleep on a elevated air mattress, aren't you jealous?

Our wonderful living room furniture

The nice TV, wish it was mine.

Our little kitchen

I hope you enjoyed my little tour of the new place, Maybe something a little more fun another day. For today I really just wanted a good reason to use the new camera (early birthday present from the future Mrs. Bubba.)

If everyone else jumped

Sad, I decided to start this cause I know so many people who have them, ok, maybe not, but I still read the one that do...a lot. So I decided maybe I should create one of my own.

I figured, I just started to travel, and will be traveling pretty much every week from now until...? I will be working in Saginaw MI. during the weeks and going home every weekend to see my beautiful fiancee. With all that is going on, why not start a blog.

Any question, feel free to ask, hopefully fun post to come.
